Hair Loss Consultation

Requesting a consultation, whether in person or by teleconsultation, is straightforward. Here's exactly how it works.

Most first appointments are booked around a month out, though this can shift depending on demand. If something feels urgent, reach out anyway. We'll do our best to see you sooner. (What do we consider urgent?)

You'll request your preferred date and time, and our team will confirm availability.

Clinic Hours:

Monday to Friday: 10 AM – 6 PM

Saturday: Closed

Sunday: Hair Restoration Surgery

Step One: Are You a New or Returning Patient?

If you're a new patient, continue to Step Two: New Patient below.
If you're a returning or follow-up patient, skip ahead to Step Two: Returning Patient

Step Two: New Patient

Your first visit is a full diagnostic consultation, generally 45 minutes to an hour. Most first appointments happen in person at our Ortigas clinic. This is what we recommend, since it lets the doctor examine your scalp directly and give you the most accurate diagnosis. In select cases, a virtual consultation may be appropriate instead, and the doctor will let you know if that fits your situation.

The fee for your diagnostic consultation is ₱2,000. This covers your full history, a trichoscopy scan, and a written diagnosis (the real value of the visit), whether or not treatment follows.

A. How to Request Your Appointment

  1. Fill out our Patient Intake Questionnaire (PIQ) through the Google Form linked below. This helps the doctor understand your situation before you even walk in.

  2. If you have recent blood test results, feel free to include them. They're genuinely helpful, but not required to book. If you don't have any, that's completely fine; we'll guide you on what's worth doing, if anything, once the doctor has seen you.

Useful values, if you happen to have them on hand: Complete Blood Count, Ferritin (iron status), TSH (thyroid function), Cholesterol/Lipid Profile, Zinc, and 25-Hydroxyvitamin D. Again, they are not required, just useful.

B. Preparing for Your Appointment

Before your consultation, it helps to:

  1. Review our Clinic Policies on booking, cancellations, follow-ups, and prescriptions.

  2. Browse our Frequently Asked Questions to get a fuller picture of what to expect.

What to bring:

  1. Any prior blood test results or medical records, if you have them (not required). It's best to submit them to us prior to your visit.

  2. A list of medications or supplements you're currently taking

Come with your questions ready.

It's easy to forget what you wanted to ask once you're in the room. Jot down anything on your mind beforehand, as no question is too small.

Bringing someone with you?

You're welcome to bring a family member or friend for support.  They're welcome to wait just outside the clinic, or join you in the consultation itself if you'd like. To keep the room comfortable for everyone, we ask that it be one companion at a time.

C. What to Expect During the Consultation

Your consultation is built around one goal: giving you a full, honest understanding of your condition and your real options. The doctor personally reviews your history, photos, and any lab results you've brought.

By the end of your visit, you'll understand:

1. Diagnosis: what's actually causing your hair loss.

The doctor identifies the likely cause using your clinical history, scalp exam, and any lab test results available. In some cases, further testing (like a scalp biopsy or additional labs) may be recommended, and we'll help you arrange it locally.

2. Prognosis: what you can realistically expect moving forward.

Some conditions improve on their own or with treatment; others are chronic or progressive. Understanding which one you're dealing with is what makes your expectations realistic instead of guesswork.

3. Treatment: what the best next steps actually are.

There's no one-size-fits-all answer for hair loss. The doctor outlines evidence-based options specific to your diagnosis, which may include:

  • Prescription and non-prescription medications

  • Non-surgical procedures like steroid injections, microneedling, and PRP

  • Laser treatments

  • Cosmetic options

  • Hair restoration surgery, when it's genuinely the right fit

Every plan is built around your specific history, stage of hair loss, and anything you've already tried, and not a generic package.

D. Follow-Up and Long-Term Options

Every patient's path forward looks a little different. After your consultation:

  1. Some patients take their diagnosis and treatment plan back to their primary doctor or dermatologist for ongoing care.

  2. Others choose to stay under our care for long-term management.

  3. Follow-up visits typically happen in person every 3 to 12 months, with virtual check-ins in between as needed.

  4. Some patients return only occasionally, annually, or every few years, using us as a specialized resource when something changes.

We see patients at every stage of this journey, from a first-ever evaluation to cases that have already tried several treatments elsewhere.

Step Two: Returning Patient

Reach out to our office by email or phone to arrange your follow-up check-up. Your follow-up consultation fee is the same ₱2,000 as your original visit — we keep pricing simple and consistent.

Step Three: After Consultation

Once your consultation is complete, here's how to make sure everything continues smoothly:

A. Review Your Consultation Materials

Take some time to go over everything covered during your appointment. If anything's unclear or you think of a question afterward, reach out anytime at aguinaldohairlosscentre@gmail.com.

B. Submit Any Outstanding Information

If the doctor asked for anything further, such as a biopsy report, updated blood tests, or the name of a specific medication. Please send it over as soon as you're able to aguinaldohairlosscentre@gmail.com.

C. Complete Additional Blood Tests (If Applicable)

If further blood tests were recommended, try to complete them within the timeframe the doctor suggested.

D. Fill Your Prescriptions

If you were given a prescription, you're welcome to fill it at any local pharmacy. A few things worth knowing:

  • Prescriptions from our doctor are valid within the Philippines only and can't be filled in other countries.

  • Many international patients bring their treatment plan to a local physician back home, who can then issue a prescription valid where they live.

  • Prescriptions aren't renewed indefinitely. Please reach out to us when it's time for a follow-up.

E. Arrange Your Follow-Up Appointment

If the doctor recommends a follow-up, we'd suggest booking it early to secure your preferred time — this is especially true for telemedicine visits, which can fill up quickly. If you'll be continuing care with your own physician instead, it's worth scheduling that visit with similar lead time.
